Before you buy Havoc.......

So I just got million credits!!

And I just unlocked Sniper and Havoc. As usual, we are left in the dark with regard to their stats. I've always contemplated on buying Havoc..well because it looks cool.

If you look at the picture above you can see the level 1 stats of Havoc. Also, you can see that all of its abilities are for offense. After leveling the plane to 100, I tried some stages with it and I could say that it's performance is so-so. Here's why:

Doesn't not excel either in damage.

All of it's abilities are for offense but it's auto attack is pretty weak. So not unless it is activating it's third skill or getting damage, you will have to rely on your BRO-bots most of the time. On the other hand, you can instantly kill multiple enemies.

It does not have high armor.

When I first bought this plane, I thought that it has higher armor than Patriot or Wraith. After leveling it to maximum, I found that it's the other way around. When I flew it, I am dismayed that it cannot take as much damage as the other two class S.It only has slightly higher armor than Laserbite but lesser damage so it make it a glass but not really a cannon.Check the comparison below.

Does not have armor restoration or repair.

When you fly this plane or chopper, it is mostly a one-way trip. I don't know if it is just me or it just really likes to crash and die. Low armor + no sustain = suicide, that's for sure. You have to really have to maximize your BRO-bots abilities and overdrive to get through a difficult stage. This plane is not good for Arcade or Assault mode.

You are still vulnerable while using Overdrive.

This is probably the worst point. While other plane (Laserbite, Patriot, Wraith, or Hellfire) are invincible while in Overdrive mode, Havoc is not. So in the heat of the battle with a boss, you will have to dodge bullets and will not be able to get a good position. This is what makes me regret my purchase the most.

In conclusion........

As bad as it may be, it is still depends on our own preferences right? What doesn't work for me might work for you. I just wrote this so can have a reference before deciding if you will buy Havoc or not.

How to complete Patrol stages easily.

Patrol Stages.......

It is frustrating to deal with these stages but, you will have to complete to get stars or crystals. You are not the only one having difficulty completing the near impossible stages. So here is my guide on how to surpass it. Also, you may check this video first to see how it works.

Get a Phoenix.

This is pretty basic. We all know about the passive ability will let you survive a fatal hit. This means second chance for your plane in the hellish patrol stages. Get this plane for 300 crystals and you will not regret it.

Craft Scarab.

This takes patience as Scarab is Class S and you will have to spend considerable resources but it is worth it. It's second ability is THE SAME as Phoenix. It will save you from another fatal hit. So if you messed you for the second time, Scarab is there to save you.

Craft Legatus.

It is OK whichever you will craft first but you must get BOTH of them. Legatus's second ability gives shield every 35 second, which is not so much but at least it increases your chance of survival. This will give a third chance if you got hit.

IF you are lucky, you might get this....

Mechanical Armor! This part is optional as I was just very lucky to get this from BLACK BOX but I kept it because of it's ability. It provides shield once every mission. With this, you have a total of four chances of survival in Patrol stages. Keep in mind, this is only optional as it depends on your luck if you will get the shield.

Hawk Freedom Squadron: Best BRO-bot

Today, I finally crafted BRO-bot Legatus. I did some test run together Nicola XSS and I could say that they are the best BRO-bot combination.

I 'll first explain Legatus's active ability. Decimation let's you fire 3 U-shaped projectiles that are wide as your screen. Aside from dealing big damage to both minor enemies and aces, it also BLOCK OR CANCEL out all kinds of projectiles. So when you are being out-gun by a boss, simply activate the skill to save your plane.

Two of it's abilities are passive. Short shield get's activate every 35 seconds to protect you. Second is Backup battery that increases your plane's damage at 100%. This makes Legatus as both offensive and defensive BRO-bot.

However, this bot is considered one of the best because of it's cooldown reduction. Yes, it let's you spam your BRO-bots abilities. For this reason, you will commonly see high level pilots using Legatus specially in boss stages. Check this video to see for your self.

Now, let me talk about Nicola XSS. Well, there is really nothing special with bot aside from it increases your Defence and active ability. When activated, it will cancel and block all kinds of projectiles also. It has a long cooldown, so it is useless without Legatus. When paired, it becomes an Xtra Skill Spammer. The higher you level-up Legatus, the faster the cooldown of this bot!

I was able to complete Stage 80 and 100 in Heroic mode even though both BRO-bots are not yet fully upgraded. You can watch the videos here. I was able to unlock Havoc and Sniper which I will be purchasing soon.

In conclusion, I can say that these bots are worth your resources. Do not think twice in buying their cards whenever it is available. If you low on resources, please check out this guide

Wraith bug........

To tell you the truth, I really wanted to buy Patriot first. The thing is, Wraith went on sale first so I took the opportunity to buy it and wreak havoc in enemy lines. Unfortunately, I have heard from other players about the Wraith bug. It was mentioned that you lose 25% or more of your HP whenever you got hit. This 'hit' includes from minor planes that you could easily kill. Normally, you get 25% damage from 'hard to kill' enemies and turrets. Personally, I had not experienced this yet, but it is bothering me nonetheless.

So I did an experiment, I flew Wraith and Patriot in stage 100 Heroic mode. In my previous post, I had leveled up both of Wraith and Patriot to level 100. I also used the same type of BRO-bot, Nayad and Hornet. Both planes have exactly the same stats except for their passive and active abilities. I intentionally let my planes get hit by the turrets in stage 100 and here's what I got:

Yep, same damage. The turrets are in different location but they are SAME TYPE of turrets nonetheless. I do not doubt that some of our fellow pilots had experienced the wraith bug. To minimize/avoid encountering the bug keep in mind that:
  1. You are already in difficult stages of the game by the time you can buy Wraith. This means that the damages are high even if you are using class S planes.
  2. Make sure that your Wraith is leveled up to the max. Higher stage requires higher level planes.
Final note: I had recorded some stage runs of Wraith. Go check the video and see for yourself if there was a bug.

Patience is a virtue.......

Finally!!!!

I finally purchased my second Class S plane Patriot today. I got both planes while they are on sale. This is where patience actually pays off. Like I always say, you have to save your resources properly so you can purchase your needed items when they are on sale. At the same time, you have to be patient in waiting for that awesome 40% discount!

Never miss this rare opportunity.

Both planes are good so buy whichever goes on sale first then wait. If you are doing Assault regularly, you will know the importance of having  powerful planes in your fleet. Also, it helps you complete the combat tests of each respective planes when you're in short of stars.  Both Patriot and Wraith have exactly the same stats! The only difference is their passive abilities and overdrive.

For me, Patriot is much better for multi stage runs like Assault and Arcade due to its high armor and armor repair. If properly equipped with BRO-bot like Nayad and Hornet, this plane can take you up to stage 20 or more!

Wraith is good for boss stages. If you equip this plane with Legatus and Nicola XXS, you will be able to defeat bosses even in heroic mode. Wait for it be in ghost mode, go near the enemy and activate Nicola for massive damage!

Having difficulty with Boss stages in Heroic mode?

Looking at this Stage makes me feel bad..

OK, so you got your plane leveled up and evolved but still you cannot pass that freaking boss stage in heroic mode (ahem stages 80 and 100). Well, don't blame yourself because you did everything right it just that you need to focus on other aspect of the game. Let's bring in the BRO-bots. Yes, they have been part of your game since day 1.

There are many types of bots but which is worth spending? Well, let's focus on bots that can help you defeat bosses. In my observation, most people prefer the combination of Nicola XXS and Legatus. Nicola XXS 's ability is good for blocking ace's projectiles and AOE damage, however, it has a long cooldown. For this reason, pilots use Legatus because of it's cooldown reduction ability. With these, you can actually spam Nicola's ability saving you from projectile damages.

This BRO-bot has destructive ability and cooldown reduction passive.

If you had followed my previous guide, you will have sufficient resources to buy the needed evolution cards whenever they are available. Right now, I do not want to go further not unless I have the necessary BRO-bots. I just do Assault and get BRO points so I can buy the necessary cards.

I have more than enough credits and crystal to purchase anything that I want.

You can rack up crystals too!

In my first guide, I implied that I am a non-VIP player. I have not spent any real currency to help me out in the game. Also, I do not use any hacks or cheats. Regardless, I was able to save more or less 3000 crystals before stage 100. I was able to buy Wraith, upgraded my Laserbite, foolishy bought Blitzer, and bought evolution cards. So here is my guide on how to rack up those crystals.

This is my average credits and crystals.

Be a good bro! Every 24 hours, BRO shop resets the available items that you can buy. This includes 20 pieces of crystals for 88 points. Never ever miss this opportunity. Do Team strikes frequently. Aside from crystals, you should also purchase coins, experience points, and evolution cards. Doing so ensures that never have to use crystals to buy coins and evolution cards. This method is enough for you purchased and upgrade Laserbite.

Laserbite only! As you have notice, I've been putting emphasis on getting and upgrading Laserbite. Well, it's because this is the core of my strategy. The faster you can make the plane strong, the easier for you to conquer Heroic stages which means, 30 crystals. DO NOT buy or evolve any other planes not unless you need stars to get through the next phase.

Do Daily Task or complete some Progress! This will be your smallest source of crystals, mostly 8 crystals on a daily basis. Nevertheless, it is a still a big help specially for non-VIP players. With regard to your Progress, it depends on what you will be able to complete. For one, you can earn 50 crystals by simply connecting your FB account to your game account.

Almost finished wuth my Daily Tasks.

Man up and Assault the enemy! This a big source for your crystals. Once you have evolved and leveled up your Laserbite,  you can build up your fleet to do Assaults. If you will clear all 5 levels, you can earn more than 100 crystals. You can do Assault for a total of 3 times. Imagine how many crystals you will earn!

I came, I conquered.

So this is my overview on how you can get crystals. I did not go to specific details because you will definitely see it in the game. Use your crystals wisely!

Laserbite the best plane?

Destroy your enemies in speed of light

There are three reasons why Laserbite is the best plane to help you get to higher levels. First is it is cheap to buy. Depending on your gameplay, you can buy it after stage 10. I suggest that you buy it when it is on sale. Instead of buying class A planes, just evolved this plane. It is much cheaper to evolve which in turn, saves you crystals. You need to have 2900 crystal before level 70 so you can buy either Patriot or Wraith.

Two BRO-bots are better than one.

Second, it is the jack-of-all trades. It's auto-gun and and laser can clear waves after waves of enemy. The firepower of this plane is enough to take down most bosses in the game. Although its armor restoration is weak, you can improve it depending on the BRO-bots that you will use. I use Hornet and Nayad because they have lasers as weapons too and armor restoration abilities. In addition, these bots raises the attack power of Laserbite. The class S of this plane gives it another ability, it will fire 5 lasers after receiving 400 damage. No wonder they call it Laserbite. Here is the video of my Laserbite.

Lastly, it is very easy to evolve to class A-S. For most heroic stages 1-100, there are Laserbite evolution cards to collect. As if the game itself is dictating you to make this plane as strong as you can. The earlier you evolve, the bigger your advantage in any given stages. DO NOT WASTE your precious crystals on other planes yet!! I had foolishly spent mine on Blitzer. It's not a bad plane but it's capabilities are not worth spending for now.

Hawk Freedom Squadron: Beginner tips and tricks without hack or cheat

Hello there! I will share my strategy for Hawk, Freedom Squadron. It is one of my favorite mobile game in the shoot ’em up genre. This guide/strategy is for non-VIPs and does not use any hacks or cheats. Let’s begin!

What I like most about the game is the ability of your planes to evolve into a more powerful plane. You can also choose 2 BRO-bots to help you with the levels. Some bots are good for offence, while others boost your defense. Lastly, you get to change your plane’s devices for increasing your stats. This features kindda’ adds a little bit of RPG elements to the game. Cool right?

Unfortunately, this game has some flaws too. Aside from glitches and bugs, the biggest flaw is that it does not give you accurate information on the stats of planes  that you have not bought yet. This leaves you in the dark, especially for people who just started playing the game. Spending your most precious crystals on a mediocre plane is the worst strategy that you can do. Misspending could cause you the opportunity to buy an S-Class plane at stage 70. During this time, everything gets difficult including boss fight so you need a very powerful plane.

My jack-of-all trade plane.

This is the reason why I wrote this blog, to help you get the best strategy early in the game. In this way, you will don’t have to restart when you screw up in the later stages (pity me). As of the moment of this writing,  I am at stage 99 (could have gone much further if not for the my early screw ups). So here are my tips for you. Enjoy!
  1. In the early part of the game (1-10 stage), you can only use the weakest and ugliest plane which is the Sparrow. Only upgrade this plane to complete your Daily Task which is twice per day for 4 precious crystals. In these stages, you will have to rely on asking help from other players to get you through. Don’t worry, there are plenty of help so you’ll be fine. Also, get a class C BRO-bot to help you out and upgrade only to complete Daily Task.
  2. After stage 10, save as much crystals as you can so you can buy class B Laserbite. It is the second plane that you can get. Laserbite is the only plane that you should be EVOLVING until you can purchase class S planes. Believe me, most of the class B or A planes are not worth it even after evolving it. So focus on this plane only because it has one of the highest damage in the game. It can make short work of most bosses in the game. It can also clear waves after waves of enemy. Until now, I am using Laserbite (evolved to S-Class) because I still don’t have enough crystal to buy Wraith or Patriot. This is my blog about Laserbite.
  3.  Never miss Team Strike ever! If your plane is still weak, ask for help! You gotta earn those bro points for purchasing crystals and evolution cards on BRO-shop. Remember, the items refreshes after 24 hours so make sure you get to buy the 20 pieces of crystals and the evolution card that you want.
  4. Once you plane got stronger, try to help others as well. Not only you can earn BRO points for future purchases, you get to help fellow players as well. You may also do Trials if you feel strong enough. However, I suggest that you try it when the Trial shop have the item that you want, otherwise, don’t waste your energy (or fuel). Since the last update, you can ONLY use your plane. Yep, Trial without BRO-bots and Devices. And the developer said that they made it easier to complete it, although lots of player disagree with them.
  5. When it comes to buying at the Contraband shop, buy everything that only need coins. For crystal spending, buy only the cards that you really NEED. I am telling you, you MUST HAVE at least 2900 crystals before level 70 so you can buy either Patriot or Wraith. Don’t be like me!
  6. Use Blackbox! You can only get good equipment when you combine class B equipment. If it is class C, you’re better off selling them. Never mix classes! Combine B with B only. Same goes for the higher rank. The reason is that when you combine different classes, there is a bigger chance that you will get crappy equipment.
  7.  Assault mode is your farm for crystals! You will be rewarded with random evolution card and crystals. Just remember though, you need to have at least 3 powerful planes to get you to at least stage 4. Do this whenever you can and you will be racking up crystals in no time.
So this is pretty much my early strategy to get you ready for the higher difficulty levels.  Follow this religiously and you will be on a good track for the rest of the game. Stay sharp pilots!
